MARK SAUNDERS

Founder of Jujitsucise

I’m Mark Saunders, founder of Jujitsucise - a self-defence, fitness and personal development programme built on movement, discipline and mindset. Jujitsucise brings together practical self-defence, high-energy fitness training and values-based coaching to help people of all ages become stronger, more confident and better equipped for everyday life.

I am a Level 3 personal trainer with over 20 years of experience in Japanese Jujitsu, training under both the British Jujitsu Association (Gendai no Shinka Jujitsu) and the Fighting Arts Organisation of Great Britain (Kempo Jujitsu). Alongside this, I spent more than 14 years working in education as a qualified teacher, serving as an Assistant Headteacher, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Director of Sport and Head of PE.

This blend of martial arts, fitness expertise and real-world teaching experience has shaped Jujitsucise into a programme that goes far beyond physical training. Whether delivered in schools, workplaces or community settings, Jujitsucise focuses on building confidence, resilience, awareness and self-belief empowering people to take control of their wellbeing and unlock their potential.

Jujitsucise isn’t just about learning techniques; it’s about developing the mindset, habits and skills to thrive in challenging situations, improve personal confidence and become the best version of yourself.

Combining high-energy pad work, practical Japanese Ju-Jitsu inspired self defence techniques, functional movement, and mindset coaching, Jujitsucise builds physical fitness, emotional resilience, discipline and self-belief. Jujitsucise offers a range of dynamic programmes for Primary (KS2) and Secondary schools, including extracurricular self-defence clubs, behaviour and personal development interventions, PPA cover, and one-off enrichment or end-of-term experiences. Each initiative blends fitness, self-defence, and mindset coaching to boost confidence, focus, and wellbeing across your school community.

CORPORATE

Jujitsucise delivers high-energy corporate self-defence and wellbeing sessions designed to boost confidence, reduce stress, and strengthen team cohesion. We offer one-off workshops, full wellbeing days, and ongoing staff programmes that blend fitness, practical self-defence, and mindset coaching. Each session is adaptable for all abilities and supports a healthier, more resilient workforce.

Classes

Jujitsucise offers high-intensity self-defence and fitness classes delivered at various locations across London and Essex. These sessions blend pad work, practical self-defence, and confidence-building drills to improve personal safety, situational awareness, and overall physical fitness. Suitable for all abilities, each class is designed to empower participants to feel stronger, safer, and more resilient.

One-to-One

Jujitsucise also offers 1-to-1 and small-group personal training, combining fitness, pad work and practical self-defence tailored to individual goals. Sessions can be delivered at partner venues, in your home, or out in the community, providing complete flexibility. Training can also be booked for pairs or groups of two to three, creating a fun, motivating and confidence-building experience for friends or family who want to get stronger and safer together.

Jujitsucise provides practical self-defence and wellbeing sessions for Colleges and Universities, designed to support student safety, confidence, and mental resilience. Sessions blend fitness, real-world self-defence techniques, and situational awareness to help students manage stress and navigate real-life challenges with confidence. Ideal for wellbeing weeks, enrichment programmes, or student initiatives, Jujitsucise creates engaging experiences that support personal safety and overall wellbeing.
